Three steps to a scanned PDF

  1. Drop in a PDF, an image or an Office document — it is read in your browser and never sent to a server.
  2. Adjust the scan effect, paper, signatures and stamps and the watermark, with the original and the scan compared page by page.
  3. Select “Generate Scanned PDF”: pages are rendered one by one, then the file downloads straight away.

Frequently asked questions

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. Standard scanning and bulk scanning both run locally in your browser, so your files never leave your device.

Is it free, and is there a limit?

Standard scanning is free and needs no signup. Free scans have a fixed daily limit; Pro lifts it and also unlocks bulk scanning, an ad-free workspace and API access.

Can I turn a JPG or PNG photo into a scanned PDF?

Yes. Drop in a JPG, PNG, WebP or HEIC image: it is laid out on paper and scanned like any document, so a phone photo of a page becomes a scanned PDF.

What about Word and other Office documents?

Word (.docx), PowerPoint (.pptx) and spreadsheets are rendered in your browser first and then scanned, so the original layout is preserved as closely as possible.

Which formats are supported?

PDF, images such as JPG, PNG and WebP, Word, PowerPoint, spreadsheets including Excel, CSV and ODS, Markdown, HTML, RTF, SVG and plain text.

What can I adjust in the scan effect?

Brightness, contrast, blur, noise, rotation, border, resolution, a yellowish tint and a black-and-white mode — all free, with the original and the scan compared page by page.

Can I make the document look old?

Yes. Turn up the yellowish tint and add some noise, blur and a slight rotation for a worn, photocopied-many-times look instead of a clean fresh scan.

Can I add a signature or a stamp?

Yes, with Pro. Draw a signature, import an image or add a company stamp, then place it anywhere on the page. Signatures you create are saved to a library on this device so you can reuse them.
